Irvine Chinese School Model Club

My Scale Model Class in Irvine Chinese School
1st week

I brought about 40 boxes of model kit back to America after my trip in China, and started a real scale model class in Irvine Chinese school. The model was exclusively non-cement because I didn't want kids to get asthma like me.

The class started from 7/5, 2016. At the beginning, there were only 9 kids in class, but they were enough to trouble me. Our first project was HE-117 by Meng Model. Seriously, most of kids were from elementary school and had no experiences of modeling, so I had to explain how to use twister, grinding paper, and many other skills. Some even didn't look at instruction and just cut everything they saw, and others cried for help because they barely had strength to deal with some tough parts.

In the second class, I taught them how to paint. And it was pain.

I felt regret that I shouldn't let them use airbrush, although they were so mad on it. Most boys were obsessed with airbrush, and tried to use two hand to handle it. They didn't know how hard they should push and pull backward, and how far they should keep from object.

So that's the reason I was there, teaching them with my greatest patience. (almost got me mad sometimes)
